A new study of the Andalusian Council of Agriculture has revealed some figures about mangoes and avocados, which have become a "green gold". The average price per hectare of these farms in Malaga stood at 98,339 Euro in 2016, which is five times the average price of farms in Malaga, which is 18,731 Euro.
The average price of agricultural land in the region has grown for the third consecutive year and reached 20,498 Euro per hectare in 2016. Irrigated subtropical crops saw their value reduced by 7.9%, although this remains at a high level.
The lands with the highest value in the province are those devoted to the cultivation of fleshy subtropical fruits, mainly avocados, cherimoyas and mangoes, with the aforementioned average price of 98,339 Euro/ha.
