Russian retailer Lenta has announced the opening of its first hypermarket in Achinsk. The hypermarket provides a variety of 17,000 SKU’s. Besides local products, it contains Lenta’s private labels and federal product range. The hypermarket will be open seven days a week from 8am to 11pm.

Austria: 2 new stores for Hofer
Supermarket chain Hofer revealed that is to open 2 new stores before Christmas. The stores in Vienna and Stainach-Pürgg will run on energy-saving lights, efficient heating technologies and eco-friendly Austrian energy sources. The stores will include a ‘Hofer-Marktplatz’ for fresh fruit and vegetables, a ‘Coolbox’ with a number of convenience food products, a ‘Backbox’ section with an assortment of 30 products including fresh bread and other baked goods and a wine section.

Aldi Australia said that it will increase its present-day network of 473 stores across the country and that it is “eager to bring the Aldi difference to more Australians”. A spokesperson for Aldi Australia said: “Each of these stores will follow our new format, with clearer signage, redesigned shelving and expanded wooden produce bays, energy efficient LED lighting and extended chillers.
