China: Trading post in Shenzhen imports coconuts from Thailand

On November 17th, a batch of Thai coconuts weighing approximately 23.8 tons and with a gross value of close to 30,000 USD entered China through the trading post Sha Tau Kok in Shenzhen city. This was the first time this trading post has imported coconuts from Thailand. After the batch of coconuts arrived in the trading post, staff from the Inspection and Quarantine Office investigated the plants and the provided documents, and carried out tests on the spot.

The coconuts had already been peeled, so their appearance was clean and without any surprises, like undiscovered plant diseases and insect pests. As soon as the inspection staff agreed the coconuts met all requirements, they allowed a smooth transit of the goods.
