BOE Smart Systems for retail

BOE sign cooperation agreements with SAP and Alibaba Hema supermarkets

Taking into consideration the huge commercial opportunities brought about by the digital revolution, BOE soon began to accelerate its involvement with the retail industry. On November 14, during the BOE IPC 2017, BOE signed cooperation agreements with SAP and Alibaba Hema supermarkets. Yao Xiangjun, senior vice president of BOE and chief executive officer of Smart Systems, said that cooperation with retailers aims to accelerate BOE's research into smart retail solutions and launch a plan for new IT solutions for retail.

BOE and SAP are going to build a smart retail platform with a new format. According to Yao Xiangjun, the cooperation between the two parties is meant to combine SAP's business software with BOE retail software and create an integrated smart retail solution.

Jing Wei, vice president of SAP China and general manager of value engineering department, said in his speech that SAP system will be integrated with BOE's smart-tagging technology and that they will integrate smart-tagged data into the store's cloud. This will not only show the price on the electronic label, but will also show storage availability and even the status of supply chain replenishment. If they were to combine the set-ups of front-desk perception and back-office operations, they could provide this solution plan to other sellers.
