UK: Pea and Bean Conference comes at crucial time for industry

This year’s UK Vining Pea and Bean Industry Conference comes at a crucial time for the industry according to Coral Russell of the British Grower Association. The conference, which takes place in Peterborough on Tuesday 21st November, will provide information on issues including the state of the pea market, research updates and a panel session from leading members.

Coral said: “Tickets are free for members of the Pea and Bean Growers Association and £25 for non-members. We all know that there is a lot happening in fresh produce in general at present, as well as issue that specifically affect peas and beans. Delegates will also have the chance to hear about the launch of the Yes Peas! campaign, which has got off to an excellent start, and we will be launch the 2017 UK Vining Pea Report.”

Speakers include Becky Howard, Principal Technical Officer at PGRO; Dr. Rob Simmons from Cranfield Soil and AgriFood Institute; Helen Simpson from the Yes Peas! Campaign alongside celebrity chef Rachel Green; Emma Fencott from Kantar World Panel; Lea Herold, Plant Pathologist at PGRO; and Eric Legras, Chairman of French Producer Organisation, OP L Vert.
