China: Sweet potatoes aiming for a bumper harvest

Temperatures are falling, winter is on its way and the choice margins for winter vegetables are decreasing. Sweet potatoes can often be seen in winter. Following the increase in demand, the market price always goes up a little. Now we are just at the time when a bumper harvest for sweet potatoes can be expected.

Prices are currently stable because of the incessant expansion of plantations. The sweet potatoes currently on the market mainly come from Inner Mongolia, Shandong, Anhui, Shaanxi and other places. The supply is generally sufficient and prices have remained stable despite some very small drops. If the weather remains good during the later stages when the sweet potatoes hit the market in large amounts, the prices might lower a little.
