Two German guidelines for wholesale and logistics

In order to make the QS-system partner in wholesale and logistics more transparant and understandable, the guidelines 'Wholesale/Logistics for Fruit, Vegetables and Potatoes' that always consisted of two parts will be separated from 1 January 2018.

There will be two seperate guidelines: one for wholesale (including own logistics) and one especially for logistics companies.

No extra charges have to be paid by companies for the use of both guidelines with regard to certification. Wholesale companies that carry out transporting activities with their own fleet of vehicles are covered by the wholesale certification. Therefore, certification by the guidelines for logistics is not necessary.

Logistics companies that exclusively transport and/or store fresh and processed fruit, vegetables and potatoes, without being the owner of the goods, can be certified according to the guidelines for logistics. These will include conditions for transport activities and short-term storage for the purpose of further transportation as well as criteria for long-term storage.

In light of the complaint period, it is possible to read and comment on the guidelines for wholesale and logistics until 16 November 2017.
