The production price of bananas in Taiwan is very low, only 7 NT (New Taiwan dollar) per kilogram. However, the Taiwan Agricultural Development Company is planning to sell them in Dubai for 50 NT per kilogram, which is very expensive. It requires 16 day for a ship to reach Dubai. If it is successful, Taiwanese storage and transport technologies will be used to sell bananas to other countries, including the whole region of Southwest Asia.
