Global Agricultural Trading (GAT) exhibiting at the PMA Fresh Summit

Opportunities in the United States for yellow pitahaya

“Our first shipment of fresh yellow pitahaya or dragon fruit is expected to arrive this Friday, the 13th of October. It contains 200 boxes, however, we expect to receive 500 to 1000 boxes on a weekly basis. The yellow dragon fruit is different from the red dragon fruit as it’s sweeter, has a higher brix level and a higher fiber content. We believe this is a great fruit for the US market, going after the American palate, as they like sweet and healthy products”, starts Joe Costa, fresh produce sales from Global Agricultural Trading.

PMA
“The PMA show is important to us as it’s a great opportunity to meet our clients, prospect new customers and show everyone our new exotic superfruits available in the US market”, explains Joe. One of these new fruits is the yellow pitahaya or yellow Dragon Fruit, which is grown in Ecuador and Colombia. “We are growers of this product and we have been exporting it for about 5 years to countries like Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Canada. We waited for market access to the United States for a little over five years now. We got the permission to enter the US market last month.”

The company Global Agricultural Trading (GAT) was founded in 2009 and it’s based in Los Angeles, California and Colombia. “We are growers of yellow dragon fruit and golden berries in South America. In addition, we produce dried fruit such as dried gooseberries, dried mango, dried pineapple, dried papaya, dried banana and a few other products.”
