Peru exported a total of 2,839,621 kilos of sweet potato at an FOB value of US $ 1,807,538 between January-August of this year. This is slightly higher than the 2,320,660 kilos worth US $1,240,438 shipped in the same period of 2016.
According to the Agrodata Peru website, the main market for this Peruvian product is the United States, where sales reached US $937,036. The US was followed by Chile (US $ 348,504), Belgium (US $ 166,545), the Netherlands (US $ 136,359), Ecuador (US $ 47,011) and several other smaller countries, that together total US $172,083.
