Switzerland: Noticeably fewer pears in stock

The pear harvest has nearly come to an end. There are 6.000 tons of pears in stock, which is about 4.000 tons less than during the first half of the year. This means that the stock is as low as was predicted by Swisscofel and the Swiss Fruit Association in a recent report. The late frost at the end of April has had a large impact on the pear harvest.

The target stock level will not reach the 11.000 tons at the end of October as was required.

The apple harvest is still ongoing, so there is no information on the apple stocks available yet.
