China: Hema Fresh Produce opens new stores

Hema is a new type of retail shop from Alibaba that will completely reimagine the offline supermarket. On 28 September, 10 new stores were opened in Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Shenzhen and Guizhou. Ever since Hema Fresh Produce was created in 2016, this has been the biggest, large-scale collective opening of stores. Among these new stores, those in Shenzhen, Hangzhou and Guizhou are the first ever Hema Fresh Produce stores in these cities. In the last two of these cities, namely Hangzhou and Guizhou, Hema will proceed through a joint venture setup.
