Mercer Mooney partnership to increase AU fruit exports to the Middle East

West Australian fruit growers will soon have greater access to export markets in the Middle East as a result of a recent agreement signed by Mercer Mooney and LucaZara.

Mercer Mooney is the largest marketer of fruit in Western Australia. “We market over 30,000 tonnes of fruit annually, with less than 5% currently going into export. The partnership with LucaZara provides us with a terrific opportunity to open up export opportunities in the Middle East” says Mercer Mooney CEO Paul Neale.

LucaZara is a diversified food group based in Dubai with representation and activities across the region. The company manages Pink Lady and other produce brands including working on the Australian fresh produce campaign, Now! In Season. “We’re excited to work with Mercer Mooney and its grower fruit base across West Australian in the Middle East” says LucaZara Managing Director David O’Brien.

Government of Western Australia (GoWA) Dubai recognise the opportunity for quality Western Australian fresh fruit in the Gulf. “GoWA congratulate Mercer Mooney and LucaZara on their partnership and look forward to working with you.” Says Mr. Pankaj Savara, Commissioner, GoWA.
