"Diversification of marketing channels spurs sales"

"This year, in the province of Guizhou, although the rainy weather during its later stages has reduced the produced volume of kiwi fruits to a certain degree, altogether the gross output of kiwi fruits is still somewhat larger than last year's. This is mainly because plantations in Guizhou province and its surrounding area have expanded," says Mr. Wu Shaochun from Guizhou's Nobility Fruit Organic Agricultural Development Corporation.

"We own a kiwi plantation of approximately 400 hectares in Guizhou's Xiuwen county. Our operations do not cause any problems for the surrounding areas. Our operation method is 'company + farmer households' and we grow the Guizhang variety of kiwi fruits. This top quality product combines sweet and sour tastes and tastes similar to those of a sweet potato. Under natural ripening conditions, the kiwi fruit can, at the earliest, hit the market around 10th October every year. When stored in cold storehouses, the suppy will be sufficient until July next year."

"The market price for kiwi fruit is influenced by many factors. We are still far from the start of the season, so it is hard to predict how things will evolve. However, I foresee that the price will be similar to last year's price. Our top quality kiwi fruit will be sold under the regionally well known 'Xiuwen' label and will be available through three channels: offline wholesale, online retail and self-picking days open to locals and residents from surrounding cities."

"'Xiuwen' kiwi fruit has been officially recognized as a symbolic and protected product by the national office of inspection on December 31st 2014. Xiuwen is situated in the middle of Guizhou province, where winters are mild and summers are not extremely hot. Within its borders, the soil has a very low acidity and is therefore suitable to grow kiwi fruits. Fruit industry experts consider Guizhou to be the best place to grow kiwi fruits on the entire globe. The county of Xiuwen started expanding its kiwi fruit plantations in 1998, 1999. Currently, the entire county is completely covered by 10 hectares of kiwi fruit plantations, of which 3.4 hectares are used for mature quality products. We plan to continue our strict monitoring of the cultivation process, so we can safeguard product quality and and solidify the place for the label 'Xiuwen' on the market."
