Weinan is the traditional agricultural capital of Shaanxi. It is also the fruit capital. The 2017 launch ceremony of the well known Chinese fruit supplier in Weinan was held in the Xianglong Hotel, with, as its theme, "The Weinan industry has a lifetime passion for fruit."
Many honored guests attended the opening ceremony. These included Zhang Qingfeng, vice-president and secretary-general of the China Fruit Marketing Association, Fan Hailong, vice bureau chief of the Shaanxi Fruit Industry Administration, and Zhu Yongli, CEO of TFresh Fair: plus over 70 well known fruit purchasers from over 17 cities and provinces in China, such as Fruit Day, Hubei Jia Yi Jia Fruit chain store, and Xingrongmao: as well as many media outlets, such as Shaanxi Daily, Shaanxi Broadcasting Corporation, and Shaanxi Farmers Daily: and lastly bureau chiefs of the Fruit Industry Bureaus of every county.
At the ceremony, Guo Leibao, the bureau chief of the Weinan Fruit Industry Management Bureau, said in his introduction of the Weinan fruit industry development that, up until the end of 2016, the city's total fruit production area was 372.400 hectares (3.724 million mu), producing 4.448 million tons. The production area for green fruit is 105.000 hectares (1.05 million mu), and the organic production holds 7000 hectares (70.000 mu). In the past few years, Weinan's fruit, and mainly apples and pears, has been sold to more than 30 countries and regions, such as America, Australia, Russia and Thailand. Its annual export value is 170 million dollar, ranking first in the whole province.
In the morning, an inspection team visited Weinan's grape production area in Linwei. It then went to the official Grape Industrial Park of Shanghai Zhongda Fruit, Yumei Modern Agricultural Park, and Weinan Grape Industrial Park.
In the afternoon the inspection continued to the Dali Fruit Park, visiting the Anren Xiao Po 1000 hectares winter dates demonstration field, Zun Tian Modern Agricultural Park, Hua Shan Fruit and Vegetable base, and four large winter date fields of An You Fruit Specialty Cooperative. This TFresh activity will continue until the end of the month. It will then travel to different regions and continue in Hunan, Hubei, Guizhou and Chongqing.
