China: Heavy rain in Hunan hits price of Changsha watermelons

As the king of summer fruit, watermelons have always been a bestseller, and their price has been rising every year. This year, however, the price has been dropping endlessly. When watermelons from both greenhouses and open fields entered the market, the supply grew, leading to a drop in price. The reason that the price has been dropping so much now is that, apart from the influence of supply and demand on the market, the development of the logistics industry makes it easier to deliver watermelons everywhere. This inevitably affects the local melon market in Changsha. Moreover, the heavy rain in Hunan is also a catalyst that has been pulling down the watermelon price for the past two months.
