“Consumers can easily take this pack away”

In supermarkets, strawberries can be seen in various types of packaging and presentations. A cardboard consumer packaging with a handle is a newcomer on the shelves. “The packaging is open, so that the product is very visible,” says Johan de Neef from Smart Packaging Solutions.

The packaging company recently introduced the new packaging, called ‘Smart specialty tray.’ This was specially developed to promote the Belgian and Dutch strawberries. “By using this tray, you create an added value for top-quality products. Thanks to the glossy appearance, combined with nice offset printing, it’s guaranteed to become an eye-catcher with consumers.”

Johan indicates the packaging is suitable for other products as well. “The ‘Smart specialty tray’ can also be used to pack soft fruit, snack tomatoes and forest mushrooms. It’s easy to use and can be made to size for your product, marketing and supply chain demands.”

Johan says the tray is unique. “It’s strong because of the solid cardboard, and besides, it’s also affordable, according to several interested buyers. Additionally, it is 100% a consumer packaging, the consumer can easily bring it along. It’s also sustainable: the packaging is made from 100% FSC base material and is 100% recyclable.”
