On 4 August 2017, the "2017 Hwacheon Tomato Festival" started in Hwacheon-gun, Gangwon-do in Korea. It continued until 7 August. During this time, 83 tons of tomatoes were used and five golden rings were hidden in a sea of tomatoes, and had to be found. The "Hwacheon Tomato Festival" brings large profits every year. In 2016, Hwacheon-gun sold around 200 million Won (approximately 1.2 million yuan) worth of tomatoes.
