The production volumes and the brix degrees obtained per plant are two aspects that have been raising the concerns of organic growers. The small volumes available in the market end up taking a toll on prices, which results in slower sales than those of conventional crops. That is why Orgafarming has been working for about 25 years in various products focused on organic farming to be able to improve both aspects. "We are talking about a product that has worked with all the crops with which it has been tested. We have thus managed to improve the taste and the volume of fruits and vegetables without harming the environment," states José Miguel Fernández.
The sale of this product has been practically limited to the domestic market until very recently. It only started to be exported to Morocco about four years ago.
"When it comes to the opening of new markets, there are two fundamental factors: money and time," adds Fernández. This company, which is still small, is focused on the latter to grow at a controlled pace and is taking the necessary time to be able to settle in different markets. "We must also take into account that the issue of documentation and certificates is fundamental to be able to market this product in other countries." However, Turkey will soon be using it, and Colombia and Chile are in the process of registering it.
