During the phytosanitary check it turned out that the labels on the packaging were lacking, which meant that the name of product, country of origin, the exporter and/or re-exporter were unknown. The fruit was sent back to Kazakhstan.

During an inspection of a party of oranges from Egypt in the port of Novorossiysk, the Mediterranean fruit fly was found. This phytosanitary discretion resulted in an import ban on the 25 tonnes of oranges.
