China: Online sales of Zhejiang Cixi waxberries reaches new high

This year, the online sales of waxberries reached a new high. According to the Cixi Agricultural Produce E-Commerce Association, during the waxberry season, S.F. Express has made around 7.6 million yuan in transportation fees from online orders, a rise of 77%. It delivered 170,000 orders, an increase of 71%. In total, Cixi had almost 180,000 orders online, with an average of 200 yuan per order, which adds up to a total revenue of 36 million yuan. After deducting transportation costs, this leaves farmers with a net revenue of 28 million yuan, an increase of 87% from last year. Of the total annual Cixi waxberry revenue of 300 million yuan, online sales make up 9%.
