UK: New season blackcurrants 'selling like hot cakes'

Fresh blackcurrants were top of the menu at Oliver Kay Produce this week, selling in 125g gram punnets. Daniel Pyne from the company said that chefs love these berries, and "they are going like hot cakes".

The blackcurrants are on the specials list this week to promote the new season, UK grown Blackcurrants, as is Lancashire Red Mizura, a salad leaf with thin rhubarb coloured stems and leaves which taste of mustard and sorrel. Other seasonal produce such as UK grown Redcurrants & not forgetting Evesham grown Garden Peas, which are helping to celebrate the Great British Pea Week 10-16 July 2017, are also on offer.

Oliver Kay Produce are nationwide suppliers of all fresh Fruit, Vegetables, Dairy & Dry Store Ingredients, supplying chefs, in hotels, restaurants, pubs, universities, schools & contract caterers to name but a few.

The company has never lost sight of their original vision, sourcing the very best produce they can find. With 1000's of lines, the range is continually growing and Oliver Kay Produce is now able to meet most of their customers’ food requirements whenever they need.
