China: Heavy rainfall destroys almost 67 hectares of orange orchards

In the past few days, persistant heavy rainfall in the region of Guangxi province has caused orange orchards in Guilin city, Liuzhou city and many other places to be flooded. The damage for fruit farmers is disastrous. The orchard of Liu Guochen is located in Xi Tun village, part of the Tangbao village in Yongfu county in Guilin city. His oranges will enter the market after three months, but he has no reason to be excited. The continuous rainfall resulted in a flood that submerged 1.3 hectares of his orchard. He estimates that there is between 25.750 and 38.625 euros of damage done. Liu Guochen explains that about 90% of the whole village has been hit by the disaster:"More than 53 hectares has been flooded. According to the results of current statistics the initial estimated damage goes up to 772.427 euros.
