India runs out of dehydrated garlic due to high demand

In recent years, the popularity of dehydrated garlic at the international level has increased. As a result, Indian companies specialized in this product have exhausted their reserves. However, this market is changing continuously, just like the fresh garlic market. "In recent months we have seen a recession in the international market as things seem to be going slower than in previous years," stated Ramesh Valaki, manager of Euro Foods Industries.

"The price of dehydrated garlic constantly changes," Valaki said. In recent months it has gone from $4.5 dollars per kilo to $1.5 dollars, which is the current value. These changes are mainly due to the constant fluctuations in the international market, as well as to supply and demand. This company of Indian origin exports 90% of its product and must compete with dehydrated garlic from China, which is another great producer.
