Marco Bergman, Harvest House:

“Wide demand for bell peppers keeps Dutch market fairly balanced”

“In coming weeks, the supply of bell peppers will be at a regular level, without enormous ups and downs,” expects salesman Marco Bergman of Harvest House. “Supply can be called quite considerable for some colours right now, but, generally, demand is fairly widely oriented. There’s actually demand from all corners, and that keeps the market fairly balanced.”

“However, pricing can’t exactly be called good. It could, naturally, always be better, but the pricing hasn’t been good for Dutch bell peppers throughout the season,” Marco says. “Expectation for the coming weeks is that there will be a sort of natural balance between demand and supply, with better pricing, hopefully, than was the case during the previous period.”
