Dammis van der Staaij: “We started bursting at the seams”
Staay-Van Rijn starts new construction of Fresh Park Venlo in July
Since last week, a hoarding has been making motorists on the A73 near Venlo, the Netherlands, aware of the new construction that has been commissioned by Staay-Van Rijn at the Fresh Park Venlo. After the new building from Staay-Hispa in Papendrecht, and that of Fresh Care Convenience in Dronten, this will be the third newly constructed building of the Staay Food Group in the last few years. The new building should be finished in the spring of 2018.
Staay has reached an agreement with Group Heylen and Fresh Park Venlo about the realisation of a new logistics centre of 13,000 m2, located some hundred metres from the current location. By now, the permit has been granted, and construction will be started within four weeks. The new building is located near the new entrance, facing the Weyers building.
“We started bursting at the seams, so the new building is quite necessary,” says manager Dammis van der Staay. “We really preferred a location at the Fresh Park Venlo, so we’re happy we could reach a business arrangement with Fresh Park Venlo as owner of the site and with Group Heylen, which, as a creative investor, is specialised in the realisation of high-quality logistics buildings.”
