Romagna in Campo - innovations from the world of mechanisation

Romagna in Campo has the purpose of displaying the latest mechanical and technical innovations. The fourth edition was organised at the Istituto tecnico Agrario di Cesena on Wednesday 31st May 2017 by Consorzio Agrario Adriatico, Romagna Impianti, La Commerciale Agricola di Billi Giovanni, Valente Pali and Agrilinea with the support of Regione Emilia-Romagna and Comune di Cesena. Agrilinea made a video of the event, which will be available over the next few days (for more info: www.agrilinea.tv).

Some of the innovations presented will be discussed in detail in articles to be published over the next few days.

"We had the honour of introducing the new model of the New Holland orchard tractor - T4100F. We reduced consumption and emissions and the pressurised cabin means improved comfort for operators," explained Giovanni Billi from La Commerciale Agricola in Forlì.

"We are presenting our nets with 2.4x4.8 mm holes against the brown marmorated stink bug. Our transpiring anti-rain nets to protect delicate fruits such as cherries and kiwis have also raised a lot of interest," explained Agrintech technicians.

Iridium coloured anti-hail nets are quite well-known by producers. They capture and filter just one part of the spectrum to support ripening, grade and colour.

Celli presented its steam pest control machine. Its purpose is to debug the soil organically. Thanks to an exothermic reaction given by steam and quicklime, the latest evolution of Ecostara reaches temperatures suitable to eliminate nematodes, fusarium, sclerotinia and, in some cases, even the seeds of weed plants.

"We are satisfied with the initiative. It's always positive when a school like ours becomes a hub of knowledge where technicians, companies, students, growers, alumni and journalists can gather," explained Principal Camillo Giorgi.
