Jingdong (JD) establishes first electronic test center for freshness in China

Recently, Jingdong has established a test laboratory. This is China's first electronic test center! Liu Qiangdong expresses on his own profile: "Tightly controlling the source + a system that traces the chain back to this source + cold chain logistics, it's all for the sake of safety!"

To let consumers eat safely, a few days ago, Jingdong founded test centers in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou to test the freshness of products seperately in each of the three cities. This is a step closer to completely controlling the standards for freshness of products. The laboratory is equipped with a high speed sensor that can detect pesticide residues, a comprehensive detector for food safety, a high speed detector for malachite green, ractopamine and all kinds of antibiotics and several other high tech sensors. This equipment needs to cover test programs related to agricultural pesticides, veterinary medicines, heavy metals and other threats to food safety.

Besides this monitoring equipment, Jingdong's private cold chain system has also been built according to the industry's highest standards in the four areas of temperature control, refrigeration, frost, deep-frost. All over the country almost 270 cities are in favor of using cold chain systems when distributing goods, 76 cities support warm storage in their logistics, in order to guarantee that consumers all over the city can purchase fresh products of high quality.
