Low molecular weight carboxylic acids to increase marketable production

Carbotecnia is a pioneer in the use of carboxylic acids B.P.M and has continued in the same line since its foundation, as low molecular weight carboxylic acids offer concrete and measurable advantages at both soil and plant level. "This immediately results in an increase in the marketable production, namely due to the improvement in the interaction of the plant with the environment," affirms Sara Cisneros, of the marketing department of Carbotecnia.

Its effect has been tested on a wide range of crops, and in varying climatological and edaphic conditions. The excellent results have led them to continue researching their properties. The technical department of Carbotecnia, supported by important research centres, such as the universities of Castile-La Mancha, Miguel Hernández and the University of Almeria, and based also on its own internal tests and research, has kept the initial basis in continuous development to ensure a better adaptation and efficiency of all formulations.

"I believe that the key to our success has been having products of excellent quality, which, together with the excellence of our human team, has resulted in the full satisfaction of our customers, who remain highly faithful to us," explains Sara Cisneros.

Carbotecnia is currently a leader in many regions of Spain, is present in more than 60 countries and continues its expansion.

According to Sara Cisneros, "the use of our products at crop level is most common among those who trade them unprocessed, and where quality, both internal and external, is a key factor. These products are ahead in terms of consumption, although in recent years we have developed a specific range for extensive crops, like soybeans, rapeseed and cereals, which has been highly successful, as it has helped significantly increase the yields obtained."

Applied radically, these are the benefits of low molecular weight carboxylic acids:

• They mobilise, solubilise and make insoluble soil nutrients assimilable.
• They favour flocculation and soil permeability.
• Desalinate the soils.
• Reduce the dispersing effect of sodium.
• Promote the rapid complexation of cations present in the soil nutrient solution.
• Reduce nutrient leaching.
• Stimulate the root system.
• Regulate the pH of the rhizosphere to absorb more nutrients.

When applied to the leaves:
• Nutrients are absorbed by the plant in a 100% efficient way.
• They maintain a high photosynthetic activity, even under unfavourable conditions.
• Improve translocation and deposition of nutrients at destination.
• Regulate the opening and closing of the stomata.
• Increase fruit quality in terms of colour, flavour or post-harvest life.
• They do not damage the plant tissues.

Carbotecnia has more than 500 references, all registered, with very widespread brands, such as Carbosoil, Tecnocalcio, Fast Speed, etc.

"Some of these can be said to be unique in the market. For example, Carbosoil, in a study conducted by the AGR200 research group at the University of Almería, was considered the best product for the tackling of stress caused by excess salinity in irrigation water," she points out.

All specialties are liquid, except Turbocalcio Plus (fully soluble 40.5% calcium CaO).

"Focusing on the products with calcium, we are able to affirm that we have obtained very effective formulations to deal with physiopathies associated with the lack of this element, such as tip-burn, blossom-end rot or bitter pit."

There are also others containing potassium, phosphorus or boron, products with algae, flowering inducers, cell structure enhancers, revitalisers in situations of biotic or abiotic stress, soil conditioners, and even a natural bird repeller (Carbotecnia Bird Out), which despite not being considered a nutrient for the plants, is included in the range of specialties because of its high effectiveness in the prevention of losses and damages in the crops.

"All of these form a unique an extensive catalogue, which guarantees that growers will always find a suitable alternative," points out Sara Cisneros.

In addition to zero-residue products for conventional agriculture, Carbotecnia has a range of nutritional solutions for organic farming certified by BCS Öko, under European, US (Organic) and Japanese (JAS) standards.

"In conventional agriculture, for which most of our range is intended, the use of any of the formulations is safe; there is no risk for the crop or for the final consumer of the agricultural product; that is, we could be talking about zero residues. In our activity, we try to minimise the impact on our environment and the environment in general. The packaging is collected by the AEVAE, the Spanish Association for the Valorisation of Packaging, of which we are founding partners. Other waste materials, such as paper, cardboard, etc. are deposited in GIS (Integrated Systems of Waste Management).
