"Natural farming, as the name implies, means following the laws of nature in the production process. We do not use any chemical fertilizer, pesticides, other products to regulate production, or production methods that will damage the soil. Grapes that are produced through natural farming are organic. This year, we were able to bring our excellent grapes onto the market," said Mr. Liu Jing from Xi'an Anjingpin Agricultural Science and Technology.

"Muscat grapes are a European and Asian breed. Many years ago, they were brought into China, but from the beginning, plant diseases and insect pests made it hard for them to settle here. Six years ago, we started producing this breed. After several years of distressing experiences of bad harvests, we finally were able to successfully improve the soil, following the rules of natural farming in the production process. We did not get rid of weeds in the grasslands, and used no insecticide. Simultaneously, we used profitable bacteria, and used no disinfectants, so that the soil was in balance."
Growing grapes
"Our production sites are located at the northern foot of the Qingling mountains and at the foot of the Jiangjun mountain in Xi'an. We mainly produce Muscat grapes. Our production area is 15 hectares (150 mu). The ripe grapes will be picked between the beginning of August and the middle of September. The Qingling mountain range is an excellent production area for fruits in northern China. Its unique geographical location provides grapes with a clean drainage system and rather large temperature differences. The degree of sugar in our grapes is over 24."

"Last year, our production volume was rather small. We only reached approximately 10.000 kg (20.000 jin). These were mainly sold in Xi'an. This year's production volume is around 50.000 kg (100.000 jin). We are hoping to open the Shanghai market, and to cooperate with organic platforms. At the beginnning of next year, we might be able to start a brand for our method of scheduled farming. Through e-commerce we now have a sales volume of 60%-70% of the total sales volume."
