Further emergency approval for SpinTor for peaches and apricots

On the basis of Article 53 of Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009, the Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL) issued another emergency authorization for the pesticide SpinTor (active substance: Spinosad).

Thereafter, the insecticide may be used beyond the existing authorization for the control of the vinegar fly (Drosophila suzukii) in peach and apricot between 1st June and 28th September 2017.

Prior to this, the BVL had already issued emergency permits for the use of SpinTor against the vinegar fly in sweet and sour cherries (period from 1st May to 28th August 2017) and in plums, damsons and yellow plums (period 15th June to 12th October 2017).

An overview of all current emergency approvals for the different cultures and periods can be found on the BVL website.
