The season has begun and carrots, spring onions and celery have arrived at Barendrecht. "They are, of course, not large carrots, but they are top quality. We are no less than ten days earlier than last year", says Angélique. It was a memorable season since there was such a high demand for German carrots. This was after the terrible weather in the South-Eastern parts of the Netherlands in June.

"These first products are traditionally priced high, but are falling now again", says Angelique. She, her brother, Dennis, and sister-in-law, Maxime Selleger help with the buying and selling. The German open field season will be followed by the arrival of the first peas and a week later by radishes. German sweetcorn will soon make its way to Barendrecht too. "Corn was very good seller last year!"
