On 14 May, Hefei encountered a strong weather convection, which even caused hail in a lot of areas. The sudden hailstorm caught the owners of many greenhouses in the Gangji and Qingfengling villages in Changfeng off guard. The Hefei Organic Fuxi Fruit and Vegetable Plantation Cooperative in Qingfengling was severely hit with over 400 greenhouses damaged. The fruit and vegetables inside of the greenhouses were totally destroyed. Changfeng villages, such as Wushan and Shuangdun, also suffered from the hailstorm. According to statistics, the Gangji village has a total of 2000 damaged greenhouses, and even more damage to their wheat production.
