Peru sells all of its watermelon exports to Ecuador and Chile

This year's fresh watermelon exports started at a slower pace than last year. According to information from AgrodataPeru, between January and April this year, Peru dispatched 3,152,915 kilos of this product for an FOB value of US $ 608,197. This numbers are lower than the 5,640,441 kilos worth US $ 961,838 sent in the period of 2016.

The two main destinations for this national export are Ecuador, which had purchases of US $ 493,000, and Chile, with US $ 115,000. 

The biggest exporter of watermelon from Peru were Coproimpex SAC, with sales of US $ 273,000, followed by Lugi Importaciones y Exportaciones SAC (US $ 216,000), Ordoñez Cutipa Elvira (US $ 20,000), Agronegocios Internacionales José SRL (US $ 8,000) and Import Export Polu EIRL (US $ 4,000).
