Chile is the main destination of fresh Peruvian limes

Peru's 2017 fresh lime export season had a good start. According to AgrodataPeru, between January and April of this year Peru exported 1,678,742 kilos of this product at an FOB value of US $ 1,259,361. These numbers are higher than the 985,897 kilos shipped and US $ 769,069 achieved in the same period of 2016.

During the first four months, Chile was the main destination of these shipments, concentrating 97% of the total. It was followed by Panama with 2%, and a small group of destinations that together account for the remaining 1%. 

The main exporters were Agroexportaciones Machu Picchu SR, which accounted for 26% of total shipments, Limones Piuranos SAC (23%), Limones Peruanos SRL (19%), Agronegocios GerĂ³nimo SRL (13%), International Reality Property Management SAC (4%), Agroexportadora Luvac EIRL (4%), and others (11%).
