Frutacloud looking forward to the arrival of the American cherry season

This season's last few grapes from the Southern Hemisphere

The season for Chilean grapes has come to its end. Generally, we can say this year's season for Chilean grapes was perfect! For example in Chile, there was rarely rain when the grapes were being harvested, so a large part of the picked grapes do not have any quality issues. If we view the grape season broadly, the price for Chilean red earth grapes was constantly satisfactory, which largely boosted the development of marketing activities for the red earth grapes and attracted numerous customers.

Concerning seedless grapes, this year a lot of varieties received approval on the market. Among these grapes are the seedless Muscat which has gradually risen and has become a 'grape celebrity'. Muscat has a unique fragrance, a sweet taste and a special appearance, which cause it to be the favorite of many retail stores. Other varieties are Sable Seedless, Inia Grape One and Autumn Crisp. These varieties have all brought about their own market segments.

In the past, in comparison to other fruit sold online, fresh grapes have not performed very well because of their complicated treatment and transportation. Fortunately, in the wake of the incessant development and expansion of large-scale O2O chain supermarkets, the problems of transportation and delivery of fresh grapes have been resolved. After having overcome the last few barriers, fresh grapes will finally be sold in both online and offline channels. At present, the retail industry of imported fresh grapes has just started, so Chinese consumers will increasingly show interest in seedless grapes, and will want to try different and new ways to purchase and enjoy fresh grapes.

The last few grapes of this season are being harvested, but thousands are eagerly waiting for the arrival of cherries from California or northwest America. How to make the demand for American cherries meet the continously growing output and increasing length of the production season for cherries, has become of utmost importance in this year's cherry season. Cherries from northwest America are forecasted to start growing in the first week of June, but at that moment the output of these cherries is still going to be limited. The output will reach its peak roughly halfway through July.

Last winter the cold barely damaged any of the cherry plants, but the relatively cooler and longer spring season did help the pollination of the cherry flowers. This caused the production curve for cherries from the northeast to be even more flat. If these kind of temperatures and weather conditions continue, the supply of northeastern cherries will last until the first week of August. Charter planes are the main transportation tools used to carry cherries during the high peak season. Operations with charter planes require a lot of negotiations, but it actually still is the main method by which cherries are brought to the Chinese consumers.

Sonnet Cherries have a special soft pink skin and pulp and their sweetness exceeds 20 degrees. because Sonnet Cherries have a limited output, these cherries will be high-end and pursued by many players in the market.

Frutacloud believes that the Chinese consumption market for cherries in summer has extreme potential, and are on the verge of starting all kinds of marketing and sales promotions. They will also bring more and better northeastern Cherries to the Chinese market.
