Price report for Egyptian produce

While the prices of most fruits and vegetables from Egypt have remained flat, Egyptian tomatoes have seen a price hike. Egyptian tomatoes currently go for EGP£7 (€0.35) per kg. The price for potatoes is EGP£3.30 (€0.17) per kg, whereas both onions and courgettes are registered at EGP£2.50 (€0.13) per kg. Both beans and mallow fetch a price of EGP 3.50 (€0.18) per kilo.

The price for peppers is about EGP£4 (€0.20) per kg. Okra costs about EGP£22 (€1.11), while garlic goes for EGP£10 (€0.50). Both Capucci and Turkish eggplants cost EGP£2 (€0.10) per kg, while Egyptian eggplants are a little more expensive at EGP£2.25 (€0.11). Taro costs EGP£7 (€0.35) per kg.



The export prices for strawberries stand at EGP£8 (€0.40) per kg. The price for summer oranges is EGP£5 (€0.25) per kg. Guava costs about EGP£8 (€0.40) per kg. American apples go for EGP£17 (€0.86) per kg and limes cost EGP£15 (€0.75) per kg. Arashi peaches fetch prices around EGP£7 (€0.35), while cantaloupes go for EGP£6 (€0.30). The price of Romans per kg is EGP£10 (€0.50), whereas Aliossifa costs EGP£9 (€0.45) per kg.
