The US is the main destination of Peruvian sweet potatoes

Peru exported 1,460,409 kilos of sweet potato for an FOB value of US $809,300 between January and April this year. Exports increased when compared to the 1,091,503 kilos worth US $541,168 shipped in the same period of 2016.

The United States was the main destination for this product, as 45% of the total shipments were sent to this country. It was followed by Chile (25%), the Netherlands (13%), Belgium (6%), Ecuador (4%), and several smaller destinations that together add up to 7%. 

The leading export companies in the first four months were Prima Farms SAC, with sales for US $365,000, D Matfal Foods Company EIRL (US $58,000), Agricola y Ganaderia Chavin de Huantar SA (US $58,000) and Coproimpex SAC (US $27,000).
