Photoreport Interpack

The Interpack took place this year from 4 to 10 May. The fair for the packaging branch and related processing industry is held every three years. In 2014, 174,798 people from 163 countries visited this fair. In 2017 there were slightly less: 170,500. There were 2,865 companies at this huge packaging fair.

We visited all 18 halls and Andries Gunter created a photo report of the Belgian and Dutch stall holders, whilst Gertrude Snoei did so for the packaging novelties. Many types are already known. Yet new combinations of materials are constantly used for production and there seems to be shift from plastic to paper and carton. In the consumer's mind paper and carton are a more sustainable option.

Save Food Congress
The Save Food Congress was organised within Interpack for the third time this year, where various speakers held their presentations relating to food waste. There was also an innovation park, a special exhibition for the stallholders with innovations. They are fighting food waste with their products or services.
