Swiss organic apples are running out

This month, the stock of Swiss organic apples are expected to run out. At the end of April the stocks were lower than they had ever been in the past four years.

At the end of April, 143 metric tonnes of organic apples were in stock, according to the latest report from Bio Suisse und Swisscofel. This is 437 metric tonnes less than last year. Due to the low level of stocks, supplementary imports have been permitted since the end of February so that Swiss apples can be available for as long as possible.

Organic pears were already sold out by the end of February.
