Italy: New early green kiwi variety Fruges 15/09

"As propagation company, we have different kiwi varieties in our catalogue but, at Macfrut 2017, we will launch a new early variety in co-ownership with Minguzzi SpA from Alfonsine (Ravenna)", reports Amleto Venturi, marketing manager for Venturi Società Agricola in Tessello di Cesena, a company specialising in the production of in-vitro fruit plants with over 40 years of experience.

This new variety produces early green kiwis available between late September and late November. Fruits weigh 90-105 grams on average. Compared to the Hayward variety, the flesh has a lighter colour and is sweeter. In addition, fruits can be sold a few days after harvesting. This variety will be called Fruges 15/09. Guided tours of the orchards will be organised in autumn, the perfect occasion to see the trees and taste the fruit.

In addition to Fruges 15/09, we will also present the AGR-FR1 pollinator by Coop Agrintesa as well as Green Angel, the new Psa-tolerant variety by Vivai Miretti.
