Milestone expands activities in Central America with office in Guatemala

This week, forwarding agent Milestone Fresh started a new office in Guatemala. “In 2015, we opened our first overseas office Milestone Costa Rica, and we are very satisfied with this. Both suppliers and our Dutch relations have indicated multiple times that this is a very pleasant way of working. That’s why we decided to further expand our activities in Central America, and as of 1 May 2017, Milestone Guatemala is open for business,” says Peter van der Klift.

“We’re more and more aware that if we want to strengthen our position in the fresh flows from Central America, we have to be in control of the activities. We are already very active in Central America, and we had more demand from Guatemala for the transport of both fruit, vegetables and plants. The most important products we currently transport from Guatemala are snap peas, melons, plants and cut foliage,” Peter says.

“The largest advantages of a local office are having a faster and shorter mutual connection. Because of the fast and open communication, trade has become more transparent, and we can keep both supplier and importer completely up-to-date with their flow of goods. With this new branch, we hope to offer our current customers a better service, and new customers more added value,” Peter concludes.
