Dragon fruits freshly arrived from Thailand
"Since the Chinese New Year, the prices of red-fleshed Thai dragon fruits have been rising fast. Now the wholesale price per box (8kg) has been almost doubled, which was caused by the increasing demand in the domestic market in China. Even though more dragon fruit production plantations have expanded in provinces including Hainan, Zhanjiang and Guangxi, due to the climate differences, the immaturity of the cultivation and supply chain, domestic dragon fruits have had hardly any competitive advantages compared to those imported from Thailand."
