Argentina: Entre Rios will export sweet citrus to Brazil

Governor Gustavo Bordet is in Sao Paulo, closely following the final administrative steps which will allow the entry of sweet citrus from Entre Rios to Brazil. The decision has now been made. According to estimates, the region will ship 5,000 tons of sweet citrus to the neighboring country in a first stage. Bordet stated that in 2016 the province's exports of primary products, agricultural and industrial manufactures to Brazil, had increased by 23 percent over 2015.

"We are about to start exporting sweet citrus to Brazil. We've worked hard with the Chamber of exporters of Citrus and the national Government," said Bordet from San Pablo. Bordet is accompanying the Cecnea, and Entre Rios entrepreneurs of the citrus sector (Nobel S.A., Trebol Pampa S.A., Trevisur SA, and Cooperativa San Francisco); the dairy sector (Lacteos Tonutti SRL and Cremigal SRL), and the blueberry sector (Delta Berries SA) who are in Brazil on an institutional and commercial mission designed to strengthen trade and political ties.

Entre Rios is participating in the thirty third version of the APAS (São Paulo supermarket Association) international fair, one of the most traditional fairs in Brazil. APAS is the largest supermarket event in the world. Various productive sectors participate in the fair, especially the processed foods and beverages sectors in general.

"We have the determination to continue working and developing business contacts for our products in Brazil, given that it is a big market that is very near to us and also due to a clause of the Mercosur Treaty. It is important to conduct these kind of activities that promote and fundamentally enable our producers to do good business," he said.
