China: Shandong Yantai cherries available on the market soon

"This year we have encountered drought, but to guarantee the quality and yields of our cherries, we are still using drip irrigation. Cherries from different cultivation areas in China enter the domestic market at different time of the year. The supply of cherries from Bailuyuan of Shanxi province starts round 5, May; those from Zaozhuang and Taian of Shandong province are available from 20, May and Dalian cherries won't be available until around 10, June. Close to the sea, the temperature differences in Yantai and Dalian are big between the day and night, so the cherries here contain more sugar. Also, because the cherry trees here bloom later than the inland area, the fruits are harder and more tasty. In addition, with a long history and great experience in fruit cultivation, the overall quality of cherries from this area is relatively satisfying.
