According to the Chinese Journal for South America, the concept of healthy food is becoming more and more popular among Chinese consumers. The Chilean Fruit Exporters Association (Asoex) states that in 2016 the export of avocados from Chile to China has been rising constantly. The Chilean website "Expansion" announced on 27 April that the demand for avocados in Chinese market keeps growing. In fact, exports of avocados from Latin America to China have already grown from 154 tons in 2012 to 25,000 tons in 2016. Mexico and Chile are the main avocado suppliers for the Chinese market, and their annual export to China has increase by 250%.
