From 28 to 30 April, the second Pineapple Cultural Tourism Festival took place in the pineapple growing area in Xuwen County of Guangdong Province - a place also known as the "Home of the Pineapple" in China. The aim of the festival was to promote pineapple seeding and accelerate the modernization of pineapple production, as well as boosting the local tourism.
Various interesting activities were organized during the festival, including a pineapple harvesting experience; a cycling tour along the most beautiful local route (the Xuwen Challenge, part of the 2nd National Mountain Bike Tournament); the farmer's competition and the 10000 People Feast. There were also seminars with the theme of integrating the pineapple production and local tourism.
