China: Fruit and vegetables from space

Space lettuce, space bamboo shoots and space clover. All these are vegetables that were grown at a space station in outer space. What are they like? What about outer space vegetables such as space carrots, space eggplant and space pumpkins? Are they really different from what is grown on earth? Yesterday was China's day of spaceflight. It was a day organised jointly by the China Space Technology Research Center and the Changping People's Government. A day with events centred around space during the fifth Beijing Agricultural Carnival. Front-line and highly advanced space aviation technology was unveiled to over 10,000 city residents who visited the exhibition.
