Mexican limes prefer the United States market

The popularity of the limes from Veracruz, Mexico, has been growing in the United States. Even though this fruit has other interesting markets, such as the Asian or European markets, companies like Tequila Limes prefer to focus on expanding their product in the United States. Logistics is one of the main reasons they prefer exporting their product to the US, as it is easier to reach all the different destinations within the country, it is less expensive than shipping them elsewhere, and the products' final price is more competitive.

"We expect to have a bigger production to sell this year, as our brands have been very well received," stated Luis Falcon, a member of the Tequila Limes team. At present, this company classifies its product by quality and, according to it, it has several sub-brands, like Tequila, quality 1 Premium; Mariachi, quality 1; And Jarocho, quality 1.5. "Our export capacity this year is of 14 trucks per week."
There is a demand for limes during most of the year and "lately we have seen the product from Ecuador, Brazil, Colombia, and etc. enter the US market. However, we do not think it is a problem, because Mexican production is also increasing," Falcon said.
