Consumers demand better packaging for fruits and vegetables

"In recent years, there has been an increasing awareness of the importance of packaging for fruits and vegetables among consumers, and thus their requirements for packaging have become stricter. Nowadays, when choosing packaged products, most consumers pay more attention to the quality, intensity, effectiveness and appearance of packaging materials, instead of only focusing on the price tag as they did before," said Mr. Alan Jiang from Linyi Yulun Printing Co., Ltd.

"This packaging company was founded in 2000 in Linyi, Shandong. We produce cartons mainly for fruits including apples, avocados, peaches, oranges, and hard vegetables like carrots, garlic, potatoes, onions and yams. We focus on products customization to best satisfy the needs of our clients."

"We noticed that different customer groups have different focuses on packing. For example, wholesalers pay more attention to the overall robustness of cartons, while supermarkets and retailers value more their appearance, portability and prices. In addition, there is no doubt that technology is critical for the development of packaging products. To keep updated with market developments and effectively communicate with experts in this field, we host regular gatherings with other packaging manufacturers to share and explore knowledge of this industry."

Cartons with fine print and resistance to compression

"Currently, through traditional channels and e-commerce platforms, 70 to 80% of our products are sold to wholesale markets and supermarkets in first and second tier cities in China. The remaining 20 to 30% are exported to Australia, Southeast Asia and European countries from the Qingdao Port. In the future, we hope to expand sales in the European market by working with large local farms, major purchasers and packaging companies."
